After rebranding their core range look and feel - Poetic License came to us to create a new e-commerce website, that continues to give the same brand experience.
The Layers team worked closely with the internal team at Poetic License to deliver something that really wanted. The team at PL know their product inside out, know what their customers want and had some great ideas to include perfect serves and cocktail ideas.
Setting some basic rules, allowed us to be more creative with the type on the site than its previous iteration. We introduced a new Display font, that was to be attention-grabbing and add a hand-made feel on the pages.
Separate Headline typeface to the body, using a serif to keep in with the brands rustic feeling product labels.
Clean modern sans for the body and a variation on the title for links and buttons. Nothing drastic, but carefully chosen to give the pages a strong brand feel.
We knew we were working with a flat black background. This was to allow the bottles to stand out from the page in their new unique style. With some fantastic product photography from Carn Patrick, we knew we could rely on the product shots to play well with the black aesthetic.
From here we designed some black palette elements that would be used throughout the site and shop.
Designing the UI using components that were based on dimensions for the Mobile experience, meant the seamlessly integrated into the mobile view. This allowed for some intuitive sideswiping and vertical scrolling.
Layers have helped us to create distinctive, meaningful brands that get noticed. Their approach is ideal for projects that require thorough consideration, originality and creativity. They take time to understand our aims so always deliver on briefs, offering insightful, smart and innovative solutions that exceed our expectations.
