**What We Delivered:** Branding, UI, UX, Web

## Introduction

DoDays (formerly known as Doddle) is a UK-based activity booking platform designed to help families discover and book everything from swim lessons and dance classes to sports coaching and holiday clubs. Developed by Doddle Soft Ltd, the platform connects organisers with families through an intuitive digital marketplace.

While the team had focused heavily on feature development for organisers, the Family Portal, a critical piece of the experience, had fallen behind. And as the platform evolved, its brand identity no longer aligned with its purpose or personality.

## Challenge

DoDays approached us to help elevate both its visual brand and the experience offered to families using the platform. The core challenges were:

- A dated brand identity that no longer reflected the playful, approachable ethos of the business

- A Family Portal with a clunky user flow, hurting engagement and slowing down bookings

- A disconnect between the quality of the platform’s features and the perceived value from new users

Our goal was to reimagine the Family Portal experience and build a refreshed brand that resonated with modern families, while retaining the trust of long-time organisers.

## Branding

First up in the rebranding process was the name change. We recognized that the existing name, "Doddle," did not effectively convey the brand's values. To better align with the platform's mission of encouraging families to engage in more activities, we rebranded as "DoDays." The new name reflected the platform's purpose of helping families do more activities, more days of the week. It brought a sense of informality, friendliness, and intrigue to the brand.

We then focused on developing a playful and friendly brand identity for DoDays. Our design approach incorporated white space and simple shapes, creating a visually appealing and clean aesthetic. The brand's identity featured playful and geometric elements, emphasizing the simplicity of the brand's ethos. These geometric elements were versatile, allowing us to create abstract backgrounds, simple icons, and blend them with imagery to give photography an instant brand feel. We used solid colors from a pastel palette, complemented by black key line shapes and modern illustrations. To maintain simplicity and ease of use, we chose a clean sans-serif typeface with a limited set of weights and sizes.

The rebranding efforts transformed DoDays into a brand that resonated with its target audience and effectively communicated its core values of encouraging families to participate in activities.

## User Experience (UX)

In order to enhance the user experience (UX) and design of the DoDays platform, we undertook a comprehensive process. We started by conducting an audit of the existing platform, examining its pages and functionalities. Through stakeholder discussions, we gained valuable insights into the current website's achievements and identified their desired outcomes.

Building upon these insights, we proceeded to review and refine the information architecture of the website. This involved creating user stories and defining clear user journeys, which we then translated into wireframes to visualise the optimal user flow. Our focus was on streamlining the class listing and booking process, ensuring that users could effortlessly search for, find, and book activities in their local area. Our goal was to make this journey as smooth and intuitive as possible.

## User Interface (UI)

To ensure a seamless and intuitive user interface, we paid careful attention to the visual design of the website. We incorporated a clean and modern design aesthetic, leveraging white space and simple geometric shapes. The use of a limited set of weights and sizes for the clean sans-serif typeface contributed to the simplicity and ease of use.

Throughout the design process, we collaborated closely with the development team to ensure the successful implementation of the UX and visual design changes. By creating wireframes and a fully clickable prototype, we provided clear guidelines and specifications for the developers to follow.

## Result

- A bright, approachable new visual identity that positions DoDays as a go-to platform for family activity bookings

- A reimagined Family Portal with improved booking journeys, helping users search, select, and book with ease

- Enhanced mobile usability, supporting families on the go

- A more cohesive experience across organiser and family views, creating consistency and brand recognition at every touchpoint

## Why It Matters

By investing in UX and brand design, DoDays is now positioned to grow its user base and increase bookings through a more enjoyable and trustworthy experience. The refreshed portal not only improves conversion rates but also strengthens loyalty, making it easier for families to keep coming back, and for organisers to reach new audiences.
